The price to ride a yellow cab (New York) is about to increase heavily, while prices for black cabs (London) is expected to remain the same.

Recent votes from NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) support a 17 % price increase, the largest rise in American taxi prices this decade. However, the fares have remained more or less the same for the last eight years. While TLC members supported rising taxi fares, two voted against and one member didn’t vote.

Example of new prices for yellow cabs

Fares between central Manhattan and JFK airport will rise by £4.54 ($7) to £33.7 ($52), exclusive road tolls and service charges. The majority of the price increase is going to higher salary for New York cabbies. Are you about to visit London? Book a London cab today!
