The woman who stole good worth £38,000 of goods from three shops has been allowed be free, the woman had stolen number of perfumes and jewellery and then sold them on ebay.
But the judge has chose not to send her to jail, instead giving her a one-year sentence suspended for two years and ordering her to complete 300 hours of unpaid work. When officers searched her home they found duty- free goods, including perfume, and Monsoon and Accessorize jewellery totalling at least £30,000.
A subsequent police investigation found she had sold other goods on eBay, bringing in more than £8,000.
Prosecutor Julian Woodbridge said that although a large number of the stolen items had been recovered it is not yet known if they will be able to be sold at their full retail price, at a discount or at all.
